The judicial system of Serbia is going to admit 160 interns in courts and prosecutor’s offices across Serbia.
Testing of the candidates is administered by the Judicial Academy in Belgrade, Kragujevac, Niš, and in Novi Sad on 29 May and 5 June 2018.
Upon the announcement of the public competition by the Ministry of Justice, dated 15 Dec. 2017, the Judicial Academy has scheduled the examinations in order to test the knowledge of the candidates who have applied for the posts of judicial and prosecutorial interns.
As the Director of the Judicial Academy Nenad Vujić pointed out „We are talking about the decision of the Ministry of Justice to announce the competition for admittance of interns in courts and prosecutor’s offices across Serbia. The internship lasts for two years and, during that time, they will be prepared through practice as well for taking of the bar examination, attendance of the Judicial Academy, and entry into the judiciary of Serbia through the first judicial or prosecutorial function.
We are talking about 58 courts (basic, high, and commercial ones) which are admitting a total of 121 interns, and 16 prosecutor’s offices (basic and high ones) which are admitting 39 interns.“
Most of the candidates for intern’s posts will be admitted exactly into the courts and prosecutor’s offices in Belgrade, Niš, Kragujevac, and in Novi Sad, but also into some additional thirty cities of Serbia.
From what the Director of the Judicial Academy Nenad Vujić said, the role of the Judicial Academy is to test the knowledge of all the interested candidates, who have graduated from the Faculty of Law, and have not taken the bar examination, in order to select the best individuals who will refresh our judiciary.
Thus, the examination for prosecutorial interns will be conducted on 29 May 2018 as of 11:00, in the following cities:
- At the Faculty of Law in Belgrade, at #67, Bulevar Kralja Aleksandra;
- At the Faculty of Law in Kragujevac, at #1, Jovana Cvijića Street;
- At the Faculty of Law in Niš, at #11, Trg Kralja Aleksandra, and
- At the Faculty of Law in Novi Sad, at #1, Trg Dositeja Obradovića.
The examination for judicial interns will be conducted on 5 June 2018 as of 11:00, at the same locations as for the prosecutorial interns.
The candidates were allowed to apply both for the posts of prosecutorial and for the posts of judicial interns, i.e. in a number of prosecutor’s offices and courts and, therefore, we are talking about the integrally recorded candidates for the prosecutorial examination - 247, and 500, for the judicial one.
We are pointing out that this is the first time that such a large number of candidates is at one admitted in the judiciary of Serbia and it is particularly emphasized that this is the first time that interns are admitted through joint testing of the candidates.
