Family law disputes with an international element
The Judicial Academy, in cooperation with the OSCE Mission in Serbia and the German Organization for International Cooperation GIZ, organized a training on "Family Law Disputes with an International Element" on December 8, 2023 in the hall of the Appellate Court in Novi Sad on the fifth floor. This training was attended by judges from the territory of the Novi Sad appeal who act in this area.
The topics covered in this training were:
- Sources of law: national and international regarding family relations;
- International legal assistance in family matters;
- Family law with an international element;
- Presentation of a case from ECtHR practice (Carlson v. Switzerland No. 49492/06 dated November 6, 2008);
- Determination and assessment of the best interests of the child in family law disputes with an international element (hypothetical case);
- Drafting of court decisions in family law with an international element.
The lecturers at this training were:
- Prof. Ph.D. Slavko Đorđević, full professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Kragujevac,
- Ljubica Milutinović, retired judge of the Supreme Court, and permanent lecturer at the Judicial Academy.
