Mentors
The main role of the mentor is to facilitate the professional development of the users of the initial training through the development of competencies necessary for the future role of a judge or prosecutor through practical training at the workplace.
Some of the basic duties of a mentor are:
- providing information on judging, professional culture and ethics, to share their knowledge on how to achieve appropriate efficiency in work.
- listening to participants, asking questions and gathering information about their competencies.
- supporting the process of acquiring knowledge and developing competencies
- encouraging students to take responsibility for their training
- monitoring the students' work on a daily basis
- providing the trainee with feedback based on the competence framework and, if necessary, correcting behavior.
- compiling a report on the evaluation of the work of the trainees
The criteria (conditions) for the appointment and selection of mentors are made by the Program Council of the Judicial Academy.
