The Board of Directors is the body that manages the Academy and it consists of nine members: four members which he names The High Judicial Council from among judges; two members which he names State Council of Prosecutors from among the prosecutors and three members which he names Government. one of whom is the state secretary in the ministry in charge of judicial affairs, in charge of professional development of employees in the judiciary, and one is an employee of the Academy.
 

Responsibilities of the Administrative Board of the Judicial Academy:

  • adopts the Statute and other acts of the Academy in accordance with the law and monitors their implementation;
  • elects and dismisses the chairman of the Board of Directors;
  • elects and dismisses the director of the Academy, on the basis of the previously held public competition, no later than 30 days after the deadline for applying for the public competition;
  • elects and dismisses members of the Program Council;
  • supervises the legality of the work of the Academy's bodies;
  • adopts the entrance exam program for initial training;
  • adopts the rulebook on taking the entrance exam for initial training;
  • adopts the rulebook on taking the final exam of the initial training;
  • adopts the initial training program and submits them to the High Council and the State Council of Prosecutors for determination;
  • adopts permanent training programs, with the consent of the High Council of the Judiciary and the State Council of Prosecutors;
  • adopts the training program for judicial and prosecutorial staff, with the consent of the High Council of the Judiciary, that is, the State Council of Prosecutors;
  • adopts a special training program for judicial assistants and interns, with the consent of the High Council of the Judiciary;
  • adopts a special training program for prosecutor's assistants and interns and submits it to the State Council of Prosecutors for determination;
  • adopts the entrance exam program for judge and prosecutor interns;
  • adopts a training program for mentors and lecturers;
  • decides on the amount of remuneration for the work of mentors and lecturers;
  • approves the annual report on the work of the Academy and the annual accounting;
  • approves the decision on the appointment of members of permanent commissions;
  • adopts rules of procedure on its work;
  • approves the budget proposal of the Academy;
  • decides on the use of Academy funds, in accordance with the law;
  • performs other tasks in accordance with the law and the Statute.

The High Council of the Judiciary held a session on December 2, 2021. appointed two members of the Administrative Board of the Judicial Academy from the ranks of judges, Biljana Sinanović, judge of the Supreme Court of Cassation and Leonida Popović, president of the Misdemeanor Appellate Court at the proposal of the association of judges.

Create the prerequisites for the development of professionalism in holders of judiciary office by establishing clear, measurable and objective criteria for the election and career advancement and their training and professional development, in line with core values and principles the judiciary system is founded on.

Goal

Develop and conduct training programmes for holders of judiciary offices and other staff in the judiciary system, aimed at acquiring new knowledge and its promotion, development of special abilities and skills, to contribute to strengthening of professional and accountable judiciary system.
