Presentation of a publication Lexicon of Media and Legal Terms in the Republic of Serbia - Source: Judicial Academy

This publication offers detailed explanations on legal terms and will help the media staff in reporting on the topics that entail basic knowledge of legal terms.

The Lexicon also will also help the judiciary staff to better understand work of the media and the demands put on journalism as a profession, the ultimate goal of which is to render high quality information on issues of public interest to the citizens.

On the occasion of release of this publication, Tobias Flessenkemper, Head of the Belgrade Office of the Council of Europe, Maja Stojanović, Project Manager and Gordana Novaković, Secretary General of the Press Council addressed the gathering.

Representatives of the Judicial Academy Majda Kršikapa, JA Deputy Director and Aleksandar Kostić, Adviser for international cooperation also attended the event.

Create the prerequisites for the development of professionalism in holders of judiciary office by establishing clear, measurable and objective criteria for the election and career advancement and their training and professional development, in line with core values and principles the judiciary system is founded on.

Goal

Develop and conduct training programmes for holders of judiciary offices and other staff in the judiciary system, aimed at acquiring new knowledge and its promotion, development of special abilities and skills, to contribute to strengthening of professional and accountable judiciary system.
