Notary Chamber
The Chamber of Public Notaries of Serbia is a professional association of notaries registered in its directory. The Chamber operates as a non-profit association and has the status of a legal entity with powers determined by law and the Statute of the Chamber. Notary Chamber of Serbia:
- preserves the reputation, honor, integrity and rights of the notary profession;
- ensures that public notaries perform their duties conscientiously and in accordance with the law and their oath, and to that end supervises the work of public notaries, notary assistants and notary trainees, initiates and implements disciplinary proceedings in accordance with the law;
- represents public notaries at state authorities in order to protect the rights and interests of the profession, in accordance with the law and the Statute;
- makes decisions that bind public notaries, in accordance with the law and the Statute;
- determines the rules of notary ethics and ensures compliance with the code of ethics;
- adopts the Public Notary Rules of Procedure;
- takes care of the professional development of notaries public, notary assistants and notary trainees; organizes professional training and preparation of candidates for taking the notary public exam;
- organizes scientific meetings, professional meetings, seminars and consultations in the field of public notary;
- organizes the publication of magazines and professional literature in the field of public notary; establishes and develops cooperation with notary chambers abroad;
- exercises public powers entrusted to it by law, performs other duties determined by law and the Statute
Bearing in mind the role of the Judicial Academy in ensuring the continuous education of holders of judicial functions in the Republic of Serbia, as well as the legal obligations of public notaries for continuous professional training, the Academy and the Notary Public Chamber signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of training and professional development of notaries public.
The partnership that is the subject of this Memorandum aims to develop long-term cooperation, which is particularly reflected in the provision of professional support of the Academy to the Chamber of Notaries Public for the purpose of organizing and implementing the training program for notaries public.
Mutual professional cooperation develops on an equal basis, with maximum protection of the professional, moral and material interests of both parties.
