Digital forensics
On October 25, 2024, the Judicial Academy, in cooperation with the OSCE Mission to Serbia, organized training on the topic: "Digital Forensics" in the hall of the Appellate Court in Niš, thus continuing the training program for public prosecutors for the implementation of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The education program is designed to cover the educational needs of public prosecutors and deputy public prosecutors in the area of application of the Criminal Procedure Code. Through the prosecution and proof of certain criminal acts, the program is particularly focused on the powers of the public prosecutor in relation to the police according to the Code of Criminal Procedure. This training was attended by chief public prosecutors, public prosecutors and assistant prosecutors from higher and basic public prosecutor's offices, as well as representatives of police administrations from the territory of the Niš appeal.
The topics covered in this training were:
- The role and importance of digital forensics for criminal prosecution;
- Expertise in electronic and IT devices;
- Expertise in photo and video materials;
- Discussion and questions.
The lecturers at this training were: Mirko Veljović, Head of Department, Department of Electronic and IT Forensic Expertise, National Center for Criminal Forensics, Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Bogdan Mladenović, Forensic Expert, Department of Electronic and IT Forensic Expertise, National Center for Criminal Forensics, MUP of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Korać, Head of Department, Department for Electronic and Information Forensic Expertise, National Center for Criminal Forensics, Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Dejan Ćirković, Chief Forensic Expert, Department for Electronic and Information Forensic Expertise, National Center for Criminal Forensics, Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia and Marko Pljakić, senior associate in the Special Prosecutor's Office for high-tech crime.
