The aforementioned version of the revised Action Plan was forwarded to the European Commission in Brussels, whose experts will give their opinion and recommendations for further improvement of the text of the revised Action Plan for chapter 23.

The Ministry of Justice emphasizes that after harmonizing the text with the recommendations from Brussels, a public discussion will be opened again in order to continue the transparent and inclusive process of developing the final version of the Revised Action Plan for Chapter 23.

Also, the ministry reminds that the consultative process of amending the mentioned document started in the middle of 2018, when more than fifty institutions, which are the bearers of activities in fulfilling the measures and goals from the Action Plan for Chapter 23, took part in the drafting of the document. In addition, the Ministry of Justice also organized round tables for representatives of the civil sector, whose comments were of great importance when revising the text of the Action Plan, as shown by the fact that more than half of the total number of NGO recommendations were adopted.

In addition to the text of the Revised Action Plan for Chapter 23, atInternet presentation of the Ministry of Justice, all those interested can also find the Report which explains which civil society organizations sent their comments, whether they were adopted or not, with an explanation as to why they were not, if that is the case.

One of the important novelties in the text of the Revised Action Plan for Chapter 23 refers to the formation of a special Coordinating Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, whose role will be to monitor the effectiveness of the implementation of measures and goals from the Action Plan. Also, the same body will have the task of monitoring the implementation of activities from the Judiciary Development Strategy for the period 2019-2024. year, the preparation of which takes place in parallel with the revision process of the Action Plan for Chapter 23.

This approach should result in the achievement of the maximum efficiency of the monitoring mechanism of the defined activities, as well as provide objective reports through the strengthening of responsibility for the results of the implementation of the Action Plan and Strategy among the bearers of the measures and activities themselves. The deadlines stipulated in the Action Plan for Chapter 23 are equally defined for the implementation of measures from the Strategy.
