The Judicial Academy, in cooperation with the Pishtaljka portal, on October 23, 2024, in the hall of the Judicial Academy in Niš, organized a training to obtain a certificate on special knowledge related to the protection of whistleblowers. This training was attended by judges and assistant judges from higher and basic courts from the territory of the Niš appeal.

The topics covered in this training were:
-    International standards and principles in the whistleblower protection system, the Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers as a novelty in the legislation of the Republic of Serbia - basic postulates; judicial protection;
-    Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers - basic terms prescribed by the Law, procedure and types of whistleblowing, employer's obligations and criminal liability prescribed by the Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers;
-    Case studies - practical application of the Law on Protection of Whistleblowers (Familiarity with cases and work in groups on tasks; Presentation of results and plenary discussion);
-    Experiences of the Counseling Center for Whistleblowers (Pistaljka);
-    Portrait of whistleblowers in Serbia, analysis of the current practice of the Counseling Center for whistleblowers.

The lecturer at this training was Jelena Stevanović, judge of the Court of Appeal in Belgrade.
