As part of the project "Support of the European Union to building trust in the Western Balkans", the seminar "Standards and practice of the European Court of Human Rights in relation to war crimes cases" was held at the Art Hotel in Belgrade.

The topics of the seminar were the standards and jurisprudence of the European Court in the context of war crimes cases and in relation to Articles 6 (Right to a fair trial) and 7 (Punishment only based on the law) of the European Convention, that is, the right to a fair trial.

The aim of the training was to exchange the experiences of legal practitioners dealing with war crimes cases. The seminar was attended by public prosecutors and assistant prosecutors, judges and assistant judges of the War Crimes Department of the High and Appellate Courts in Belgrade, as well as lawyers who act in these cases.

The lecturer was Miloš Bogičević, legal advisor at the European Court of Human Rights.
