On January 30, 2024, the Judicial Academy organized a formal reception for the thirteenth generation of initial training beneficiaries in its premises in Belgrade.

In his welcome speech, the director of the Judicial Academy, Nenad Vujić, reminded the users of the professional and social responsibility that the holder of judicial office has. He pointed to the lack of young staff in the judiciary and the importance of initial training in relation to the Judiciary Development Strategy and the possibility of further development of human resources in the judicial system.

He familiarized the users with the structure of the initial training program and the duties and obligations of the users with a special focus on the development of practical knowledge and skills, the specificity of the mentoring relationship, additional professional development during the training in the areas of EU law, human rights, special knowledge and skills, as well as the possibility of attending online training on the distance learning platform of the Judicial Academy, as well as the platform of the Council of Europe (HELP courses).

Director Vujić used the opportunity to point out to the users that in the coming period, through the upcoming amendments to the Law on the Judicial Academy, there will also be talks about the functionalization of the initial training program depending on the previous work experience and educational needs of future users, as well as on finding stronger mechanisms for regulating the status and position of users of initial training after passing the final exam.

Representatives of the Department for Initial Training, the Department for Research and Improvement of Education, and the Department for Personnel Affairs informed the beneficiaries about the way the program was implemented, as well as the mechanisms for monitoring the quality of initial training.
