Draft law on the Judicial Academy before the rapporteurs of the Venice Commission
Minister of Justice Maja Popović held an online meeting with the rapporteurs of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission), where the Draft Law on the Judicial Academy was presented.
During the conversation, the exceptional importance of the expert assistance of this advisory body of the Council of Europe in the process of harmonizing the legal system of the Republic of Serbia with international standards was highlighted. The rapporteurs of the Venice Commission were informed about the results of the work of the Working Group and the process of drafting the working text of the law. Normative solutions were presented to them, which should improve the work of the Judicial Academy, contribute to the professional training of holders of judicial positions and the full institutional realization of the rule of law.
Assistant Ministers of Justice Jovan Ćosić, Vladimir Vinš, Jelena Deretić and Branislav Stojanović also participated in the meeting.
Organized by the Ministry of Justice, representatives of the Judicial Academy, the Supreme Court, the Supreme Public Prosecutor's Office, the High Council of Prosecutors, as well as professional associations that participated in the drafting of the law, spoke with the reporters of the Venice Commission.
