In cooperation with the Council of Europe, the Judicial Academy with the European Union in Belgrade within the joint project of the judiciary in Serbia ", organized three one-day seminars 8, 10. and 11. April 2025. in Belgrade, on the topic:" Ethics and Integrity in Justice ".

The seminar was organized for the newly elected judges of basic courts from the area of Belgrade appeals that entered the judicial office starting in 2022. Years.

The training lecturer was Biljana Sinanović, a judge of the Supreme Court in Pension, Permanent Lecturer at the Judicial Academy and the EURPER EXPERT.

The key topics that were processed at the seminar were:

1.   Domestic legal framework for judicial ethics and international standards
2.   Thematic unit - Ethics and integrity
3.   Disciplinary responsibility
4.   The role of the Ethics Committee in strengthening judicial ethics and reducing the number of cases of disciplinary responsibility
5.   Examples of scenarios / cases

Mission

Create the prerequisites for the development of professionalism in holders of judiciary office by establishing clear, measurable and objective criteria for the election and career advancement and their training and professional development, in line with core values and principles the judiciary system is founded on.

Goal

Develop and conduct training programmes for holders of judiciary offices and other staff in the judiciary system, aimed at acquiring new knowledge and its promotion, development of special abilities and skills, to contribute to strengthening of professional and accountable judiciary system.
