Forensic expertise in the service of providing evidence
As part of the Project "Building the capacity of actors of the criminal justice system to improve the implementation of legislation" which the Judicial Academy is implementing in cooperation withOSCE mission in Serbia, this year's third workshop on the role of judges in the proper assessment of the reliability of forensic evidence was held in the "Zira" hotel in Belgrade.
The content of the workshop is based on the need for judges to better understand the latest developments in forensic science in order to improve their professional knowledge and better assess the reliability and weight of forensic evidence as well as the legality of the way they were collected from the crime scene.
The lecturers were:
- Dr. Nataša Radosavljević-Stevanović, Head of the Department for Physical-Chemical and Toxicological Expertiseof the National Center for Criminal Forensics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia
- Nenad Aranitović, Head of the Department for Operational Forensics, Quality Control and Improvement of Forensic Expertise and Analysis of the National Center for Criminal Forensics, Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia
- Jelena Stošić, Head of the Department for DNA Expertise and Management of the National DNA Registry of the National Center for Criminal Forensics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia
- Predrag Korać, Head of the Department for Electronic and Information Forensic Expertise, National Center for Criminal Forensics, Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia
