"General data protection for judges and public prosecutors" organized by the Judicial Academy of the Republic of Serbia and the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) from Luxembourg
In cooperation with the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA), the Judicial Academy, 16. and 17. September 2025, organized a two-day data seminar for judges and public prosecutors', for judges and public prosecutors of the Republic of Serbia. The seminar was also organized for judges and public prosecutors of Northern Macedonia.
The seminar aimed to:
• Provides the participants a comprehensive understanding of the European legal framework that regulates data protection, including its history, key principles and regulatory structure.
• Clarific basic principles, legal bases and main obligations related to personal data processing according to EU law.
• Meet participants with the roles and responsibilities of key data protection actors, such as data controllers, processors and supervisory authorities.
• Exam rights of data holders and legal bases and restrictions for limiting these rights in the context of data protection law.
• Analyzes legal requirements and practical challenges that occur in relation to cross-border transfer of personal data.
• Connect the theory with practice through the research of the recent case law of the European Court of Justice (ESP), emphasizing its impact on compliance with data protection regulations and implementation.
• Encourages active engagement and exchange of knowledge among participants through interactive sessions, questions and answers and discussions on real-world examples.

• Data bearer rights
• Restriction of data carriers - Law enforcement scenario

The lecturer at the seminar was Florina Pop, data protection expert, a senior lecturer at the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) from Luxembourg.
