Improving children's rights in civil court proceedings through strengthening the capacity of judges and experts for social protection
The Judicial Academy, in cooperation with UNICEFheld a workshop in the field of family law on the topic: "Improving children's rights in civil court proceedings through strengthening the capacity of judges and experts for social protection". The workshop was held on October 16, 2023 in Novi Sad, and is intended for participants of the initial training of the Judicial Academy.
The topics of this training were:
- The right to private and family life (international sources of law, Article 8 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, the opinion of the child, the best interests of the child...)
- Guidelines for the participation of minor children in civil court proceedings and the assessment of the best interests of the child
- Standards of a well-reasoned judicial decision
- Solving hypothetical cases
The workshop was led by Snežana Andrejević and Ljubica Milutinović, retired judges of the Supreme Court and permanent lecturers at the Judicial Academy.
