On 24 November 2023, the Judicial Academy, in cooperation with UNICEF, organized training for judges on the topic of "Improvement the position of the child in civil court proceedings through strengthening the capacity of judges".

The lecturers at this training were:

- Dr. Oliver Vidojević - retired child psychologist, Institute for Mental Health, Belgrade

- Nada Šarac - Republic Institute for Social Welfare, Belgrade

The training covered the following topics:

Understanding the peculiarities of the process, dynamics and outcomes of the development of children, preadolescents and adolescents
Understanding the risks, potential, problems and disorders in children, preadolescents and adolescentsathat
Special knowledge and skills in working with children in civil matters and communication with children in court - taking statements

The training was held in the hall of the Appellate Court in Novi Sad, and was attended by judges from the territory of the Novi Sad Court of Appeal, who act in family disputes.

Develop and conduct training programmes for holders of judiciary offices and other staff in the judiciary system, aimed at acquiring new knowledge and its promotion, development of special abilities and skills, to contribute to strengthening of professional and accountable judiciary system.
