Interactive workshop on the topic of new approaches in the extraction of microtraces during forensic processing of crime scenes
The Judicial Academy, in cooperation with OSCE mission in Serbia, organized an interactive workshop on the topic of new approaches in the exclusion of microtraces during the forensic processing of crime scenes - evidentiary action of investigation. The workshop was held on June 3, 2022, in the hall of the Sheraton Hotel in Novi Sad.

The education program is designed to cover the educational needs of public prosecutors and deputy public prosecutors in the area of application of the Code of Criminal Procedure and the transition from a predominantly inquisitorial procedure to a procedure with pronounced adversary characteristics.
Public prosecutors and deputy public prosecutors as well as police officers (forensic technicians) from the territory of the Novi Sad appeal took part in this training.
The topics covered in this workshop are:
- Microtraces in situ;
- The role and importance of the prosecutor's presence during the forensic processing of the crime scene;
- Presentation of the case study and work methodology at the workshop.
The participants, divided into 4 groups, performed forensic processing of the scene (case work). After processing the site (collection of samples), an evaluation of the work on the case of each group was done. The seminar was closed with joint conclusions and discussion.
The lecturers at this training were:
- Dr. Nataša Radosavljević-Stevanović, head of the department for physical-chemical and toxicological expertise, National Center for Criminal Forensics, MUP RS;
- Leposava Vujanović Porubović, deputy Senior Public Prosecutor in Belgrade;
- Sanja Šćekić, police lieutenant and chief forensic expert for operational forensics, National Center for Criminal Forensics, Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.
