Protection and safety of journalists
The second training for police officers on the topic "Protection and safety of journalists" was organized on March 9 and 10, 2022 in Belgrade, as part of a joint project of the European Union and of the Council of Europe "Freedom of expression and media freedom in Serbia (JUFREX 2)".
The goal of the training was to improve the protection of journalists and other media actors and create a favorable environment for freedom of expression, by raising awareness and building the capacity of police officers who are designated as contact points for the safety of journalists throughout Serbia.
The event was organized in cooperation with the Council of Europe, the Judicial Academy and Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, within the project "Freedom of Expression and Media Freedom in Serbia (JUFREX 2)", which is part of the joint program of the European Union and the Council of Europe "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022".
