During the one-day training, judges and deputies of the public prosecutor gained additional competencies for identifying and resolving ethical dilemmas and risks in the practice, using the code of ethics and anti-corruption tools. The trainers presented the relevant legislative framework and international conventions, results of the fourth round of GRECO evaluation that had an emphasis on the judges and prosecutors, and the latest public opinion polls on the perception of corruption.
Mirjana Golubovic, a Head of the Sector for Criminal Law of the Judicial Academy, and Tamara Tomasevic, a Project Expert, co-taught the trainings. They focused on the topics of conflict of interest, income and assets disclosure, and on raising awareness of causes, consequences and corruption-traps.
The participants praised the high level of interaction and practical aspect of the trainings, which would enable them to use those tools in their future work.
The next trainings on professional ethics in preventing and fighting corruption will take place in Kragujevac (on May 14 and 15); Novi Sad (on May 20 and 21); and Nis (on May 28 and 29).
