Application of the Law on the Prevention of Domestic Violence - Source: Judicial Academy

The training was organized for the judges of the misdemeanour courts from the territory of the Niš appellate jurisdiction.

The topics that were covered within the training included:

• The United Nations Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women
• The Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (the Istanbul Convention)
• Risk assessment; emergency measures - types, grounds for handing down, duration and violation thereof
• Multi-sectoral cooperation through the work of the Group for Coordination and Cooperation of Liaison Officers.

The lecturers within the training course were Snežana Milošević, Judge of the Appellate Court in Niš, and Nebojša Tasić, Acting Appellate Public Prosecutor in Niš.
