Forensic expertise in the service of presenting evidence
As part of the Project "Building the capacity of criminal justice actors for better implementation of legislation", which the Judicial Academy is implementing in cooperation with the OSCE Mission to Serbia, the third workshop on the role of judges in the proper assessment of the reliability of forensic evidence was held in the Zira Hotel in Belgrade.
The emphasis of this training module is focused on the needs of judges to better understand the latest developments in forensic science, which would improve their knowledge and enable a better assessment of the reliability and weight of forensic evidence, as well as the legality of the way it was collected from the crime scene.
The lecturers were:
- Nataša Radosavljević-Stevanović, Ph.D., Head of the Department for Physical-Chemical and Toxicological Expertise;
- Nenad Aranitović, Head of the Department for Operational Forensics, Quality Control and Improvement of Forensic Expertise and Analysis;
- Jelena Stošić, Head of the Department for DNA Expertise and Management of the National DNA Registry;
- Predrag Korać, Head of the Department for Electronic and IT Forensic Expertise.
