Forensic expertise in the service of presenting evidence
On December 13, 2024, as part of the project "Building the capacity of criminal justice actors for better implementation of legislation", the Judicial Academy organized the fourth professional training for judges on the topic "Forensic expertise in the service of presenting evidence". The training was attended by judges of higher and basic courts from the territory of the Novi Sad appeal.
The following topics were discussed at the seminar:
- Presentation of case study, indictment model and material evidence;
- Traces and their evidentiary potential in the field of DNA expertise;
- Traces and their evidentiary potential in the field of physico-chemical expertise;
- Traces and their evidentiary potential in the field of trasological and ballistic expertise;
- Toxicological expertise;
- Interpretation of expert results in the context of the case and drawing conclusions.
The lecturers at the seminar were:
- Nataša Radosavljević-Stevanović, Ph.D., head of the Department for Physical-Chemical and Toxicological Expertise;
- Nenad Aranitović, Head of the Department for Operational Forensics, Quality Control and Improvement of Forensic Expertise and Analysis;
- Jelena Stošić, Head of the Department for DNA Expertise and Management of the National DNA Registry;
- Predrag Korać, Head of the Department for Electronic and IT Forensic Expertise.
