On December 10, 2024, the Judicial Academy, in cooperation with the UNHCR organization, organized a seminar in Belgrade on the topic "The relationship between the extradition procedure and the asylum procedure". The seminar was intended for judges and public prosecutors, users of the initial training of the Judicial Academy, as well as judges and public prosecutor assistants of basic and higher courts and public prosecutor's offices from Belgrade and Novi Sad.

 

The lecturers at the seminar were:

  • Radmila Dragičević-Dičić, retired judge of the Supreme Court;
  • Sybil Kapferer, UNHCR consultant;
  • Emily Rozier, UNHCR consultant.

 

Topics covered at the seminar:

  • Persons in need of international protection in the extradition procedure;
  • Relevant extradition standards of the European Court of Human Rights;
  • National legal framework and case studies on the extradition procedure;
  • Discussion on future cooperation.
