The Venice Commission gave a positive opinion on the Draft Law on the Judicial Academy
Minister of Justice Maja Popović participated in the 141st Plenary Session of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (The Venice Commission), where a positive opinion on the Draft Law on the Judicial Academy was adopted.
This opinion, among other things, welcomed the readiness of the Republic of Serbia to continue the reform of the judiciary and in this sense strengthen the institutional capacity of the Judicial Academy.
This represents a significant step in the normative process and based on the aforementioned opinion and the proposed Draft Law,Ministry of Justice in the following period, and during 2025, will hold another round of public hearings, where they will discuss the final text of the law with the domestic professional public, with the aim of its adoption byNational Assembly.
The adoption of the Law on the Judicial Academy represents the final and very important normative step in the reform of the judiciary in the Republic of Serbia, in accordance with European standards and principles.
