Improving children's rights in civil court proceedings through strengthening the capacity of judges and experts for social protection
The Judicial Academy, in cooperation with the OSCE Mission in Serbia, organized a two-day training on the topic: "Improving the rights of the child in civil court proceedings through strengthening the capacity of judges and experts for social protection" on October 26, 2023 in Kragujevac in the hall of the Judicial Academy. This training was attended by the beneficiaries of the initial training of the Judicial Academy from the territory of the Kragujevac appeal.
This two-day training covered the following topics:
- The right to private and family life (international sources of law, Article 8 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, the opinion of the child, the best interests of the child...);
- Guidelines for the participation of minor children in civil court proceedings and assessment of the best interests of the child;
- Standards of a well-reasoned judicial decision;
- Solving hypothetical cases.
The lecturers at this training were Snežana Andrejević and Ljubica Milutinović, retired judges of the Supreme Court.
