Presentation of the Manual for filling out reports for parole
Judicial Academy in cooperation with OSCE mission in Serbia continues the program of strengthening the capacity of the judicial system of Serbia through various specialist trainings in the application of the Criminal Procedure Code. The training on the topic: "Presentation of the Manual for filling out reports for parole" was held on May 19, 2022 in the hall Institute for Criminological and Sociological Research in Belgrade.
In order to promote new alternative sanctions and measures in the criminal legislation and to expand the application of conditional release through the presentation of the Manual for filling out reports for conditional release, the basic idea of this training cycle is to strengthen the capacities of judges to properly assess requests for conditional release as well as public prosecutors to effectively implement criminal legislation by giving them practical skills through familiarization with new procedures needed for their more efficient work.
In this second cycle, the training included the presidents and members of the first-instance court panel, as well as public prosecutors and their deputies from basic and higher public prosecutor's offices who deal with this topic and attend the hearing to decide on the application for release on parole.
The training was organized through a seminar that included the following topics:
- Presentation of the manual
- Criminal legal aspects of the parole report, legislative framework - prosecutorial aspect
- Criminal legal aspects of parole reports, legislative framework - judicial aspect
The lecturers at this seminar were: Tatjana Lagumdžija, Deputy High Public Prosecutor in Novi Sad (assigned to the Republic Public Prosecutor's Office), Miroslav Alimpić, President of the High Court in Novi Sad, and Nikola Vujičić from the Institute for Criminological and Sociological Research.
