Digital forensics
The Judicial Academy, in cooperation with OSCE mission in Serbia, on September 29, 2023 in Kragujevac, organized training on the topic: "Digital Forensics", and thus continued the training program for public prosecutors for the application of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
The education program is designed to cover the educational needs of public prosecutors and deputy public prosecutors in the area of application of the Code of Criminal Procedure and the transition from a predominantly inquisitorial procedure to a procedure with pronounced adversary characteristics.
Through the prosecution and proof of certain criminal acts, the program is specifically focused on the powers of the public prosecutor in relation to the police according to the Code of Criminal Procedure.
This training was attended by public prosecutors and deputy public prosecutors, as well as representatives of police administrations from the territory of the Kragujevac district.
The topics covered in this training were:
- The role and importance of digital forensics for criminal prosecution;
- Expertise in electronic and IT devices;
- Expertise in photo and video materials;
- Discussion and questions.
The lecturers at this training were:
- Mirko Veljović, Deputy Head of the National Center for Criminal Forensics, Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia;
- Marko Pljakić, senior associate in the Special Prosecutor's Office for high-tech crime;
- Predrag Korać, Head of the Department for Electronic and IT Forensic Expertise, National Center for Criminal Forensics, Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia;
- Andrija Petrović, forensic scientist, Department of Electronic and IT Forensic Expertise, National Center for Criminal Forensics, Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.
