Judges and deputy public prosecutors took their oaths in parliament
Gojković said that she believes that the newly elected judges, 53 of them, will perform their work independently and impartially, in accordance withby the Constitution and the law.
"I hope that you will judge solely according to your conscience and thus ensure a fair trial for every citizen and contribute to the reputation of the judicial function in the country," she said. Gojković added that the newly elected judges should contribute to the reform of the judicial system in order to achieve an independent and efficient trial, as well as to improve the rule of law in Serbia.
23 deputy public prosecutors who were elected to that position for the first time took their oaths in the Serbian Parliament.
Gojković wished the deputy public prosecutors successful work and expressed her belief that by working according to their conscience, they will ensure respect for the law for every citizen of Serbia and preserve the reputation of the prosecutor's office. "I believe that you will protect constitutionality and legality, human rights and civil liberties," she said. All those who took the oath of office were elected at the session of the Assembly of Serbia on December 7 of this year.
