The judges, who were for the first time elected to the functions in the basic courts in Aranđelovac, Bačka palanka, Vršac, Lazarevac, Mladenovac, Obrenovac, Pančevo, Požarevac, Ruma, Stara Pazova, Ub, Novi Sad, and Belgrade, took their oaths of office.

Also, the judges, who were for the first time elected to the judicial functions in the misdemeanor courts in Aranđelovac, Valjevo, Vranje, Vršac, Gornji Milanovac, Zrenjanin, Jagodina, Kragujevac, Kraljevo, Kruševac, Lazarevac, Niš, Novi Pazar, Požarevac, Požega, Prijepolje, Ruma, Senta, Smederevo, Sombor, Užice, Čačak, Belgrade, Novi Sad, and Preševo, took their oaths of office.

Mrs. Gojković, on the occasion, expressed her belief that the newly elected judges, during their tenure, will provide a significant contribution to the continuation of the reforms of the judicial system in order to create the independent, modern, and efficient judiciary and overall improve the rule of law.

"I trust that you will adjudicate independently and impartially, in compliance with the Constitution and the law, exclusively in your good conscience, and thus ensure a fair trial to every citizen and contribute to the reputation of the judicial function in the Republic of Serbia“ was the message sent by Mrs. Gojković to the newly elected judges.

In compliance with the Law on Judges, judges, before assuming their offices, take their oaths of office before the Speaker of the National Assembly.

They were elected to the first judicial functions at the sitting of the National Assembly on 14 February.
